Declutter Support and Home Systemisation

Our expert team of counsellors, coaches, and assistants provide both practical and therapeutic interventions when working with clients to empower people living with complex chronic disorganisation to make environmental and behavioural changes to reach their goals.

Our team are honoured to walk each journey with our clients, providing support and facilitating both behavioural and environmental changes which will help build independence, overcome executive function challenges, work through any emotional and mental barriers present which are associated with chronic disorganisation and excessive accumulation, and create systems which will build functional capacity within the home, and provide support to build the skills of clients which will build their capacity to improve their daily living.

You can expect to have regular sessions with an experienced counsellor or declutter coach throughout your journey, and will also work with our specialist assistants, as you are guided and safely supported throughout the process of overcoming the emotional and psychological challenges that lead to excessive accumulation and chronic disorganisation. We blend a practical approach with therapeutic intervention, implementing a fusion of Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Schema Therapy to help clients achieve behavioural changes that will enable them to reach their goals.

We treat every client with dignity and respect, and take the time to hear our clients and take action based on their needs, goals, and choices.

Our experienced team regularly works with both private and NDIS participant clients of all ages, as well as their family members, support coordinators, other allied health professionals, and care support workers to:

- build psychological capacity to independently and safely undertake activities of daily living

- create and implement care plans and use these as the basis of our support to help clients overcome any disability and non disability related barriers and executive function challenges which may be the underlying cause of chronic disorganisation and excessive accumulation

- adjust routines and home environment in a way that helps clients reach their goals

- apply therapeutic interventions and create unique systems within homes and minds as well as design and implement accompanying routines and schedules which help clients independently and safely undertake activities of daily living and activities within the community

- take a logical and hands on therapeutic approach to minimise the impacts of the challenges that lead to excessive accumulation, and help clients overcome the emotional and mental barriers which lead to chronic disorganisation. We understand that clutter is usually a symptom of something much deeper and we work on identifying and changing these specific behaviours that lead to excessive accumulation and chronic disorganisation

- create processes, routines, and schedules within the home which help clients improve their executive function and facilitate functional improvement within their home

- provide training to our clients, support workers, family members, and any other person involved with the daily life of the household on how to continue to support the therapeutic interventions we have implemented, manage their surroundings, access the systems we have implemented, and continue to support the household in their journey toward reaching their identified goals

- adjust supports so that each session meets the goals of each client and directly relates to the any disability which may be present

- intervene in domestic settings which are hazardous, chronically disorganised, and/or unsafe and get systems in place which will work to build client capacity and prevent further functional decline. Our team work gently and at a pace that is safe for each client, making changes to routines, behaviours, and environments in order to decrease the likelihood of social isolation and mental health decline that chronic disorganisation often causes.

Each of our Assistants work under the direct or indirect supervision of our lead counsellor, undergoes extensive industry specific training created and facilitated by a bachelor qualified teacher, and engages in ongoing industry specific professional development. Our team prides themselves on their extensive experience in the industry of declutter and productivity counselling, and understands the many complexities involved in chronic disorganisation.
